On Tuesday April 3rd, St. Edmunds women’s book club, Novel Pack, met at Laureen Chang’s home. Marguerite Hennessy(in pink), professional book critic, led the discussion of “Rise of the Rocket Girls: The Women who Propelled Us to Missiles, to the Moon and Mars” by Nathalia Holt. She brought her friend, an original “Rocket Girl”, Caroline Norman (in blue). The book was chosen for Pasadena’s 16th annual One City, One Story, and tells the story of how women formed the essential computer team at Jet Propulsion Lab that allowed the first rockets to be launched into space.
