THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT
(Sunday Morning)
THE FEAST OF THE NATIVITY…CHRISTMAS
(Sunday Afternoon)
December 24th, 2017

Once ever seven years, December 24th falls on a Sunday, and on those occasions, we begin the day with Advent Four and conclude with Christmas celebrations!

Our diligent Altar Guild will decorate Church and Chapel for Christmas following morning liturgies.

Christmas Eve liturgies commence at 4:30pm with Festal Family Eucharist, an hour long celebration with a focus on families with young children. The Edmund Bell Choir will perform, our Live Nativity will be in place and Santa Claus will visit.

At 8:35pm special music on the Edmund Organ, Edmund Choir and Edmund Bells will be augmented by the Modern Brass Quintet.

Both liturgies are replete with blazing candles. There will be incense at the 9pm Liturgy.

Venite Adoremus Dominum!

A false ‘Google Drive’ phishing scheme is making the rounds. I tried to open one purporting to be from one of our bishops (it was not!). I made the mistake of entering personal data to try and open and compromised my own system, sending the temptation virus out widely. Apologies. If you opened that e-mail but did not enter personal information, you are okay. If you entered personal information, you’ll have to change passwords, scrub your system, and apologize to your friends. These Phishing endeavors are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so we ought be twice cautious. gfw+

ADVENT LESSONS & CAROLS 2017 is now available for viewing and listening on the Parish YouTube page HERE!

Our own Coleman Shelton, University of Washington, 2017 Pac-12 Conference Football All-Academic Honorable Mention. Coleman was named by the Associated Press to its First Team, All-PAC 12 as offensive center for the University of Washington, and, by the way, I would not be surprised if more national honors are not headed his way. Our Coleman is really good!!!

We welcome Cordelia Sullivan to our Lay Eucharistic Ministry Team! Cordelia has served in a variety of capacities in the Church in Panama and in California, and is a long-time member of St. Edmund’s Parish. “LEM’S” lead the Psalms and the Prayers of the People, bear the Chalice in the distribution of Holy Eucharist, and otherwise assist the Clergy.

It’s Pledge time! Bless you for your considerate return of annual commitment forms.
