St Edmund's Episcopal Church San Marino

THE THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT, December 17th, 2017

NEW PRAYER CARDS: Brother Michael and Tiffany Jones have created and donated new prayer cards for us, available in the Narthex.

The new Advent Prayer Card features a beloved masterpiece by the great African-American artist Henry Ossawa Tanner, ‘The Annunciation’, 1898.

The new Epiphany Prayer Card features a lesser known work by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, ‘Adorazione dei Magi’, 1655.

Both Prayer Cards are complemented with accompanying collects for the season from The Book of Common Prayer, 1979.

Make your hearts ready for the Messiah, whose birth we prepare to honor!

Our own Coleman Shelton, University of Washington, 2017 Pac-12 Conference Football All-Academic Honorable Mention. Coleman was named by the Associated Press to its First Team, All-PAC 12 as offensive center for the University of Washington, and, by the way, I would not be surprised if more national honors are not headed his way. Our Coleman is really good!!!

We welcome Cordelia Sullivan to our Lay Eucharistic Ministry Team! Cordelia has served in a variety of capacities in the Church in Panama and in California, and is a long-time member of St. Edmund’s Parish. “LEM’S” lead the Psalms and the Prayers of the People, bear the Chalice in the distribution of Holy Eucharist, and otherwise assist the Clergy.

It’s Pledge time! Bless you for your considerate return of annual commitment forms.
