The Second Sunday After Epiphany, January 17th, 2016

Trumpet Soloist (Marissa Benedict) shone in the resonant Nave of St. Edmund’s Church the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord, January 10th. As Dave Ford said at the reception following, “hard to beat!” as was Richard Seymour’s solo with trumpet (“The Trumpet Shall Sound (Messiah)”) just prior to the celebration of the Holy Eucharist!

Dave Ford created two large easel pieces recalling events from 1941 and the founding of our Parish which were displayed in Chapel and in the Narthex, and which will remain on view through the month. Dave plans to offer decade by decade windows into the past as we progress through 2016.

We blessed the handsome Plaque commemorating Parish Rectors, created by master glass artist Stephen Schlanser, and we enjoyed a splendid brunch courtesy of Eileen Read. (This followed the 9am repaste by Julie Quinn, so we were well fed Sunday last!)

Our 75th celebrations are officially begun.

May Almighty God, who led the Wise Men by the Shining of a Star to find the Christ, the Light from Light, lead you also, in your pilgrimage to know and love the Lord,
