St Edmund's Episcopal Church San Marino

The Seventh Sunday of Easter, May 28th, 2017

Welcome, Canon Gary Hall!
There are many reasons to admire the Reverend Canon Gary Hall, who will come to preach at St. Edmund’s on May 28, and again on June 11. Canon Hall has the resume of a Renaissance man and priest in the Episcopal Church: seminary professor; Sexual Misconduct Officer at a critical time in this diocese; rector of parishes in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; Dean and President of Seabury-Western Theological Seminary; and recently Dean of Washington National Cathedral in our nation’s capitol. He has shined in these spotlights.
There is also a lot to love about Gary. He grew up in Hollywood, where his parents worked in the business. (What famous Hollywood ‘Hall’ comes to your mind? Think way back.) Growing up, he developed a talent for stand up comedy. Some of you remember Gary from his years as Senior Associate at All Saints Pasadena, where he combined humor with acute observation to evoke the ethical themes in English literature. As a preacher, he has gone on to highlight the ethical edge of the Christian Gospel from prominent pulpits across our Church.
Please join us on May 28 and June 11, when it is our privilege to welcome Gary and his wife Kathy to our morning worship, where Gary will be our preacher.
