Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19

All public services and events at St. Edmund’s are currently suspended.

We are now well into the second phase of our transition to a new rector. This phase will give us the time for reflection about what we love about St. Edmund’s now and what we want it to be like in the future. This understanding is important for identifying the attributes we will seek in our new rector.

The first event of this phase, History Day, took place this past Saturday. It was an opportunity for parish members to share their memories and stories of St. Edmund’s and, by doing so, helped to forge a common understanding of the history of our parish. A recap of History Day follows below.
The second phase will continue into the fall. The next events will be the small group discussions, and then a parish survey. There will be more information about these and other events in upcoming Bulletins, in St. Edmund’s Notes and on the parish website.

Michael Harrigian is in charge of organizing these small group discussions and finalizing the questionnaires that will be used during them. If you would like to work with Michael on this effort, please call him at (626) 318-6428 or email him at

During this phase, it will be important to remain active in our parish life, not just in the transition events, but also by attending services regularly; participating in the summer socials, adult education and other parish ministries; attending the fall fundraiser on October 13th; keeping your pledges current; and sharing your questions and concerns with the Transition Committee.
