STEDY, January 3, 2018

We are three days into the new year and probably already oblivious of whatever resolutions we made less than a week ago. While we are still wading through the aftermath of Christmas, gifts forgotten, tossed or returned we know that adding things to our lives won’t make us happier, in fact we would probably be happier if we had less stuff in our lives. Worries or problems that we can work on eliminating from our lives that can help us have a happy and healthy 2018.
1. Comparing yourself to others.
2. Creating unrealistic expectations for yourself.
3. Your social media obsession. You may want to consider removing yourself from all social media, it is actually quite liberating.
4. Bad spending habits.
5. Fear of the unknown.
6. Living in the past.
7. Putting off a vacation.
8. Your packed schedule. Don’t be afraid to say no to an invite. If someone gets pushy or aggressive about it then its really time to walk away.
9. Unhealthy relationships. There are so many good people in your life you probably don’t have time for, don’t let the yucky ones suck up all your energy.
10. Waiting for the perfect moment.
11. The need to be in control of everything.
12. Relying on others to make you feel happy and fulfilled.
13. Avoiding getting out of the house.
14. Your need to have the best things.
15. Your hesitation to indulge.
16. Feeling sorry for yourself.
17. Fear of failure.
18. Grudges.
19. Worrying what others think of you.
20. Your disorganized lifestyle.
21. Controlling others.
22. Jealousy.
23. Blaming others for your mistakes.
24. A yearning to fit in.
25. Overanalyzing situations.
26. Friends who aren’t there for you.
27. Resisting change.
28. Being afraid to be yourself.
29. Holding onto items you don’t need.
30. Avoiding your problems.
31. Worrying about missing out.
32. Not allowing yourself to sleep.
This list is long and could be longer. Take one item a week and try to work on just that. Hopefully next year at this time you will feel lighter, more peaceful and less overwhelmed.
